Temptation in the Desert
This is a painting of when the devil tempted Jesus as He fasted in the desert by offering Him bread. However, in this painting, the devil is offering Jesus a beautiful flower. Jesus is not looking at him because Satan isn’t worth His attention, and He is instead, focused on tending to his flock of sheep. The devil is painted green because green symbolizes evil in Kerala Mural Art. Around the flower and the devil, there is an outline. This is because the flower, and thus, the temptation, is an extension of the devil. Similarly, there is an outline around Jesus and His flock. This is because we are extensions of Jesus and are made to carry out His work.
