This painting is of Jesus when He walked on water. However, instead of walking, I painted Him dancing. This is because Kerala Mural Art is full of movement. Additionally, the dancing symbolizes the joy that we can have when we think about the power and love of God. I also painted fish, who are leaping through the water to be closer to Him. While this miracle took place in a storm, I painted the sky a traditional bright orange color because Jesus’s love will help us solve our problems; His love will calm the storm. Jesus’s right hand is in a specific position that symbolizes peace and blessings in Kerala Mural Art. This is the first painting in which I drew a cross on His forehead because in Tamil, there is a saying that your fate is written on your forehead.
