My painting depicts a South Indian Jesus and Mary together, covered in jewelry. While Jesus was poor, the jewelry that both He and His mother, Mary, are wearing is a symbol of divinity in Kerala Mural Art. Additionally, everyone in the painting has yellow skin. This is because Kerala Mural Art only uses 5 colors. Hence, Kerala Mural Art traditionally has yellow skin. This is the first Christian Kerala Mural Art piece that I did. I was in the 7th grade at the time.
